We now send out Automated Email Notifications to remind you that you have books that are overdue. The first one sent is to remind you that your books will be due in 2 days time. The second one is sent when books are 14 days (2 weeks) overdue and the third one is sent when books are 42 days (6 weeks) overdue. Please bring back books on time so that others can enjoy them.
If you have not finished reading your books, you can renew them for another 3 weeks - in person at the library, by telephoning us when we are open (0114 234 8732) or by emailing us on ask@stanningtonlibrary.com - remembering to quote your library card number. You can do this up to 3 times.
Alternatively, you can renew books yourself by logging into your online account on our Yellow Sticker Online Catalogue.
Go to: https://stand.salcirc.org/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl
Login = your library card number and Password = your pin number/password.
If you don't already have a password, use the ‘Forgot your password?’ link. Login = your library card number and Email = the email address we have on your library record. NB: You need to input both of these! You will receive an email link that enables you to create a password.
Call into the library if you cannot set your password up online, we can do it for you.
Once logged in you can see all the books that are currently checked out to you. You can renew them up to 3 times.
You can also view our Yellow Sticker Catalogue. We suggest using the Advanced Search option as it shows you all the genres we use. The prefixes sort the genres into: AF (adult fiction), AN (adult non-fiction), CF (children’s fiction) and CN (children’s non-fiction). Select a genre, click search, and a list of the books in that genre appears - just like browsing the shelves in the library. You can further sort the selection into alphabetical order by title or author, or by acquisition date (date added).
If you find a book you would like to read, you can reserve it (place a hold on it). The front desk volunteers look for holds daily. Once processed, your hold will be put on the Reserved Items shelf. An email will be sent to let you know it is ready for you to collect and check out.
If you do not return books for over 3 months, we will mark them as Long Overdue (Lost). This raises a bill for them on your library account and also stops you from borrowing any more books. A detailed email will be sent to you manually, from our overdues@stanningtonlibrary.com email account.
There is no charge for these books if they are returned. Your account will be cleared.
However, we do expect you to pay for books that are lost or damaged. Alternatively a suitable replacement can be provided.
