For parents and carers with infants up to 2½ years

  • Alternate Thursdays during term time – 2 till 3.15 pm
  • These are free events, but we encourage people to make a small donation towards the upkeep of the library

Tuesday Club – conversation and fellowship for all: tea, coffee, cake and a chat

  • First Tuesday in every month – 2 till 4 pm (second Tuesday in May)
  • These are free events, but we encourage people to make a small donation towards the upkeep of the library
  • Enquire in the library

Stannington Garden Club

  • First Thursday in every month – 7 till 9 pm. In the Library during the winter months, with garden and other visits from June to October

WiSE – Writers in Stannington and Ecclesfield (formerly Stannington Library Writers Group) – for any aspiring writer in any style or genre

  • First Saturday in every month – 1 till 3 pm
  • £3.00 per session

For parents and carers with children from 2½ to 5 years

  • Every Wednesday during term-time – 2.30 till 3.15 pm
  • These are free events, but we encourage people to make a small donation towards the upkeep of the library

Every year, Stannington Library organises the annual Stannington Story Festival

STAND (Stannington & District Library Group) was formed in 2013 after two public meetings that explored the issues raised by Sheffield City Council’s announced withdrawal of formal support for Stannington Library. Since then, the group has been formalised, a committee was formed and teams of volunteers were recruited
